LST Witnesses Arsenal of Democracy Flyover on Rooftop

Washington, DC [May 2015] – The Arsenal of Democracy Flyover took place on Friday, May 8, 2015, the date which marked the 70th anniversary of the Victory in Europe (VE) Day. To honor the heroes who fought in World War II and those on the home front who produced the tanks, ships, and aircraft that enabled the United States and its Allies to achieve victory, a diverse array of WWII aircraft flew over the DC skies and Capitol. Some LS Technologies, LLC (LST) employees gathered to enjoy the view of the Flyover from the rooftop deck of its Capital Gallery offices.

Never before has such a collection of WWII aircraft been assembled at one location, and they flew over the DC skies to honor the large congregation of veterans gathered at the WWII Memorial for a ceremony. Dozens of aircraft flew in historically sequenced warbird formations over the Washington Mall. The formations represented the War’s major battles, from Pearl Harbor through the final air assault on Japan, and concluded with a missing man formation to “Taps.”

Maria Muscara, LST Marketing representative stated, “We were so thrilled to witness this historical event, right on our own office rooftop. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see such an amazing display of WWII aircraft in flight.” The weather fully cooperated last Friday as well, since the day was nothing short of sunny and beautiful as these historic planes took to the DC skies.
